What made you choose music as you career?
I feel like it chose me more than anything. I can actually remember not wanting to music as a child when my parents put me in piano lessons. But as soon as I quite I started playing the piano by myself and figuring it out on my own. From then on I just started making music for myself.
You spent time working for other artists before making the decision to start your own career. How do you think those experiences prepared you for what was to come with your own music?
It wasn't that I hadn't decided to start my own solo career, the first songs I ever wrote were for me. I just never really shared it with anyone. Writing and producing for other people was part of the process of coming out of my shell, and it was also a way to get my foot in the music scene of a new city.
